Importance of Discrimination Mode

Discrimination is one of the most important property for a detector. Because if you find something in 3 m depth, and if your detector says ” it is gold”, you are probably going to dig for gold, but if there was only a can? So if you already have those kind of experiences, namely tired of finding cans, you may also know that almost all of the detectors losses their depth values in discrimination mode. In other words, if your detectors detect something and says there is a metal, when you change it to discrimination mode, it may say “there is nothing”. Namely, detectors loses their power to detect when you use them in discrimination mode.

Importance of Depth

If you are putting a mine to underground, you do not want to dig for 3m. But if you are going to put your treasures, you probably dig for at least 1m or 2m. So Sismik Detectors’ and its customers’ main concern are treasures, and antic relics. Which are probably located in the range of 1 meter to 4 meters. Both of our detectors (TS44 & TS45X) are capable of working in those ranges.
